Pyongyang, SANA-The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea strongly condemned the terrorist attack launched by terrorist organizations with the support of Western powers in northern Syria, expressing its full support for Syria in its just struggle to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“Terrorists of various types recently launched a terrorist attack with the military support of external forces on various areas in northern Syria, destroying peaceful cities and villages and killing innocent civilians, committing heinous crimes against humanity that can never be justified,” a spokesman for the DPRK’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement carried by the Korean Central News Agency.
The spokesman pointed out that these crimes committed by terrorists in Syria come at a time when the hopes and aspirations of the Arab peoples for peace and stability in the Middle East are increasing thanks to the recent adoption of a ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and the Israeli entity.
He stressed that the recent events are the result of malicious conspiracies hatched by hostile forces from A to Z with the aim of harming the legitimate government in Syria, in addition to creating a state of unease and terror in the country, as well as pushing the situation in the Middle East to a catastrophic state.
He stressed Pyongyang’s condemnation of “the ‘reckless’ military movements of terrorists in Syria and the evil intentions of the forces working behind the scenes who collude with them and encourage them,” adding: “We express our full support and solidarity with the Syrian government and people in their just struggle to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the efforts of Arab countries to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East region.”
