Iraqi and Iranian Foreign Ministers: Expansion of terrorism in Syria threatens security of entire region

Baghdad-SANA- Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi voiced during their meeting in the Iraqi capital Baghdad their deep concern over the risk of what is happening in Syria to the entire region
They warned that the expansion of terrorism in Syria poses a direct threat to the security of the entire region.

Hussein stressed that Iraq supports all initiatives to achieve balance and stability in the region, expressing his country’s readiness to provide everything necessary to contribute to achieving peace and reducing escalation.” the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Hussein asserted, according to the statement, that what is happening in Syria directly affects the security of both Iraq and Iran, which requires coordinating positions to ensure the security and stability of the peoples of the region, pointing out that the security of the region cannot be achieved by military means alone, attaching great importance to the role that diplomacy must play in addressing crises and establishing regional stability.
