Islamabad, SANA- Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council Ali Larijani stressed that cooperation among Iran, Russia and Syria in the field of combating terrorism has been effective and has attained significant achievements.
Larijani’s remarks came during a meeting with Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin on the sidelines of the 1st conference for heads of Parliaments of Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Russia and Turkey in Islamabad on Sunday.
The Iranian diplomat affirmed the need for enhancing regional cooperation between Iran and Russia, indicating that cooperation between the two countries for solving the crisis in Syria constitutes a successful example in this regard.
He warned that the illegitimate existence of US forces in Syria plays a destructive role, and will create difficulties that would hurdle solving the crisis in the future, and constitutes a negative factor, calling for studying this issue in the bilateral consultations.
