Beijing, SANA – The Chinese Special Envoy to Syria, Xie Xiaoyan stressed that China has been among the first countries which called for a political solution to the crisis in Syria and spared no effort to reach this end.
In an interview with the Chinese News Agency Xinhua he noted that China will continue to play a constructive role in order to reach a settlement to the crisis in Syria and work with the international community to achieve this goal through dialogue among all parties concerned.
He wondered if the US had real intention to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization and put an end to its spread.
Last Friday, the Chinese Special Envoy announced that his country will expand its participation in political efforts exerted to achieve a full cessation of hostilities in Syria.
On March 29th, China appointed Xie Xiaoyan as its new special envoy to Syria.
