Damascus, SANA – Syrian international karate referee Amjad Obeid has got the international referee badge in Kumite during his participation in the World Karate Championships currently held in Austria.
Obeid told SANA sports reporter in a statement on Wednesday that his participation as a referee in the championships in Austria stresses that Syria enjoys a good reputation in sports in general, and in karate in particular.
Obeid earlier gained an international referee badge following his participation in the Kata referee course at the World Karate Championships held in Indonesia on 2015. He was also a referee in a number of international championships, most recently in the 2016 USA Open Karate championships held in Las Vegas.
