Abu Dhabi, SANA- Syrian Karate team won eight various medals as follows “four gold medals, two silver medals, two bronze medals” at the first day of the West Asia Karate Championship, currently being held in Sharjah, UAE.
The four gold medals were won by Mays Qarah Fallah and Natalie Azzam for under-21 category, Maria al-Halawi and Tim Al-Shater for under-16 category.
The two silver medals earned by Maryam Tarefi for under-21 category and Mohammed Sabouni for under-16 category, as bronze medals were gained by Layal Salman for under-16 category and Abdul Hamid al-Nasser for under-21 category.
And in a similar context it is noteworthy that the two referees, Nisreen Mansour and Ahmed al-Bakhit, obtained the Asian badge in Kata and Fighting with the BJJ classification, noting that Nisreen Mansour is the first Syrian female referee to obtain the Asian badge, and Fadi Kara Fallah obtained an Asian coach certificate.
