Provinces, SANA – Units of the army and armed forces on Thursday continued its mop-up operations, tightening the noose around foreign-backed terrorists in several areas across the country.
Homs
A military source told SANA that the army smashed dens of terrorists, killed many of them in al-Msheifeh, Um Jame’e , Um Sharshouh and destroyed a vehicle equipped with heavy machine gun in al-Manfa House to the east of al-Rastan in Homs countryside.
Qunaertra
A military source told SANA that the army killed a number of terrorists and injured many others in Treinja town in al-Qunaertra countryside.
An army unit also killed many members of terrorist organizations in Mas’hara town in the countryside of the southern Quneitra province.
Daraa
Units of the army and armed forces killed a number of terrorists, some of them were groups’ leaders, in Daraa al-Balad in the city of Daraa, and destroyed others’ hideouts and vehicles in the area surrounding al-Sheikh Miskeen and in al-Teiha, Kafr Nasij, Zimrin, al-Hrak and Tal Antar in the countryside.
Other army units destroyed a number of takfiri terrorist organizations’ vehicles on the western foots of al-Harrah and al-Mal Hills in the countryside of the southern province.
Damascus Countryside
An army unit eliminated many terrorists and injured others in Khan al-Sheeh in Damascus Countryside.
Idleb
SANA reporter in Idle said the military leader of Jabhat al-Nusra Abu Homam al-Shami, nicknamed as al-Farouk al-Souri was killed along with other leaders of the terrorist organization during a special operation for the army in al-Habeit in Idleb countryside.
Earlier, Units of army and armed forces destroy terrorists’ dens and gatherings in al-Maraneh, Qatroun, Ein Martin, Tal Salmo, Abu al-Duhour and al-Jabal al-Gharbi areas in the countryside of Idleb province.
Many terrorists were also killed in the villages and towns of al-Houta, Qre’ al-Ghazal, al-Majas, al-Shweiha and Khan Sheikhoun in the countryside.
Army units targeted gatherings of terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra, the Islamic Front and the Islamic Ahrar al-Sham Movement in the eastern countryside of the northern Idleb province, where many terrorists were killed and their vehicles were destroyed, according to a military source.
The source told SANA that the army operations were concentrated in the villages and towns of al-Houta, Qar’ al-Ghazal, al-Majas and al-Shweiha in Abu al-Duhour area.
In Khan Sheikhoun, 70 km south of Idleb, many terrorists were killed, others were injured and their vehicles were destroyed during military operations that targeted their hideouts, according to the source.
Hama
Units of the army and armed forces killed members of terrorist organizations and destroyed their vehicles in Kafar Zeta, al-Sayad and Latamneh in the countryside of Hama province.
Army units carried out a special operation in Kafr Zita, destroying two vehicles equipped with machineguns and leaving all the terrorists aboard dead.
Scores of terrorists were killed and a mortar launcher was destroyed as well as vehicles transferring terrorists in al-Latamina and al-Sayyad towns in the countryside of Mharda city.
Lattakia
A military source said units of the Army and Armed Forces established control over Dourin Hill in the northern countryside of Lattakia and continued their operations successfully inside Dourin town near the border with Turkey, killing many terrorists and destroying their ammo and weaponry.
The source added that another army unit killed and wounded a number of terrorists in a military operation targeting their gatherings and hideouts in Kensabba village, 50km north of Lattakia city.
