Damascus, SANA – The genocide of the Armenians who perished at the hands of the Ottoman Turks has been spotlighted in a new book released recently by Armenia’s Ambassador to Syria Arshak Poladian.
The book titled “Eyewitnesses on Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire” includes precise documents featuring the horrible atrocities which the Ottomans committed against a million and a half Armenians in late 19th century and early 20th century.
Accounts of some of the brutal crimes committed back then were detailed in the book, with the writer also using the opportunity to shed light on the demeanor of today’s Turkish government of the ruling Justice and Development Party which proclaims itself as the heir to the Ottoman Empire.
The ruling party has even gone too far to declare itself as representing the “Neo-Ottomans”.
Poladian highlighted in his book, issued by al-Sharq Publishing House in Damascus, the crimes of banishment, killing, burning of houses, pillage, rape and humiliation against the Armenians, citing heart-wrenching stories of pain, grief and sadness.
