Ankara, SANA-The number of victims of the floods that hit northern Turkey has risen to 57, in addition to dozens missing, as rescue teams are still searching for the missing and removing the rubble left by the floods in several provinces.
The Anadolu News Agency, which speaks for the Turkish regime, quoted the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) as saying in a statement that 48 people were killed in Kastamonu province, 8 people in Sinop province and one person in Bartin province, while 2,454 people were evacuated in the three provinces to other regions by helicopters and boats.
The Turkish authorities indicated that 62 people were reported missing in Kastamonu and 14 others in Sinop.
In turn, the Minister of Environment said that the floods caused the destruction and damage of at least 454 buildings in the three provinces, in addition to the collapse of 13 bridges.
The floods caused chaos in the northern provinces on the Black Sea, destroying energy infrastructure, leaving about 330 villages without electricity and damaging many of them, closing roads and washing away parts of others.
Yesterday, President of the Turkish regime, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, declared the affected areas as “Disaster Areas”.
