Indonesian Ambassador in Damascus: Indonesia seeks to bolster bilateral relations with Syria

Damascus, SANA- Indonesian Ambassador in Damascus Wajid Fauzi said that his country ‘s stance towards crisis in Syria has been clear as the Indonesian Embassy has not stopped work in Damascus, affirming Indonesia’s respect of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Speaking in an interview to SANA, the Indonesian Ambassador said that Syria and Indonesia have long- standing good relations, pointing out to his country’s continuous efforts to strengthen these relations, especially in economic and cultural fields.

Fauzi indicated that invitations have been sent recently to over 20 businessmen to visit Indonesia, as well as Indonesia’s participation in Damascus International Fair , expressing hope that these activities would bolster the relations between the two countries to serve the interests of the two peoples.

Fauzi said that there is a work and a willingness to double the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, which amounts USD 41.6 million, by communicating with various economic actors and business sector.
