Damascus, SANA – The Syrian Arab Popular Committee for Supporting the Palestinian People and Resisting the Zionist Project reiterated its support for the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli occupation until the occupied Palestinian territories are liberated and the Palestinians return to their homeland as per UN resolutions.
In a statement following a regular meeting on Sunday, the Committee said that the grave US decision to recognize occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the capital of the Israeli occupation entity seeks to separate al-Quds from the rest of the Palestinian territories, with the Committee asserting that al-Quds always was and always will be Arab, and any attempt to force a fake identity on it will fail.
The Committee called for rallying the Arab and international public opinion against the decision of US President Donald Trump to move the US Embassy to al-Quds, urging Arab parties and organizations to condemn this decision and make plans to confront it.
It also called for supporting the Syrian leadership and the Syrian Arab Army and its allies until final victory against terrorism and Zionism is achieved.
The Syrian Arab Popular Committee for Supporting the Palestinian People and Resisting the Zionist Project was established in 2001 following the second Intifada in the occupied territories. Its goal is to provide humanitarian aid from the Syrian people to the Palestinian people in the occupied territories.
