Provinces, SANA – Army and Armed Forces units on Wednesday foiled an infiltration attempt by Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in Damascus Countryside, and killed scores of terrorists from al-Nusra and ISIS in Homs and Deir Ezzor provinces.
Aleppo
The army units continued operations in the eastern countryside of Aleppo and established control over Deir Hafer city and 27 towns and villages in its surrounding and secured 24 km of Aleppo-Raqqa international highway, according to a military source.
The source added that hundreds of ISIS terrorists were killed, many others were injured and tens of different types of vehicles were destroyed due to the army’s operations in the area.
The source pointed out that the city of Deir Hafer is the first and most important stronghold for ISIS in Syria.
The villages and the towns that were restored are: Jafiret Mansour Manbij, Jafiret Abu Salah, Um Adassa, Akoulet Deir Hafer, al-Kabbariyeh, al-Ahmadiyeh, al-Kamiliyeh, Tal al-Sous, Um Tina, Rassm al-Faleh, Abu Maqbara Kabir, Abu Maqbara Saghir, Rassm al-Jissi, Jafiret Ghazal, Rassm al-Khamis al-Gharbi, Rasm al-Khamis al-Sharqi, Keissouma, Qaissoum, Jub Madi, Silos of Jub Madi, al-Zakiyeh, Tal al-Mahdoum, Sharifa, Kharaej Daham and Tal al-Qamqoum.
Damascus Countryside
An army unit, in cooperation with the Lebanese resistance, foiled an attempt by Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists to infiltrate a military posts in the western Qalamoun area in Damascus Countryside.
SANA reporter said that an army unit, backed by the Lebanese resistance, engaged in fierce clashes with Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists before they reached one of the military posts in Jroud Flita in western Qalamoun.
The reporter added that the infiltration attempt was foiled and a number of terrorists were killed in the clashes while others were injured, including one of their field commanders, asserting that what is being claimed by the terrorist organizations on achieving advancement by the terrorists in that area is baseless.
Hama
Some 2200 terrorists killed in northern countryside over past 6 days
Army units, in cooperation with the supporting forces, continued military operations in the northern countryside of Hama and restored a number of points in the direction of Souran and expanded their control in the vicinity of Maarzaf and northwest of Qamhana town towards the railway to the south of Tibet al-Imam, according to the military source.
The source added that army units, supported by the air force, carried out strikes on sites and movements for Jabhat al-Nusra and terrorist groups affiliated to it in Atshan, Skeik, al-Tamaniaa, Soran, Tibet al-Imam, Maardis, al-Majdal, Qteish and Kafr
Nabbouda in the same countryside.
The source revealed that during that past 6 days, 2200 terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra were killed in the northern countryside of Hama, in addition to the destruction of 7 command centers, 15 tanks, 11 armored vehicles, 107 vehicles, 12 ammunition caches, 17
shell emplacements and 6 rocket launchers.
Among the dead were the terrorists: Mohammad Kamal al-Qassim (the military leader of the so-called “Idleb Free Army”), Abdul-Hamid al-Qadah (an official within the so-called “Jaish al-Ezza”), Ahed Ahsam (the military leader in the so-called “Tahrir al-
Sham”), Mohammad Jihad Qassab (the leader of the artillery sector in the so-called “Tahrir al-Sham” and Abu Obaida al-Turkistani (the leader of the groups of Turkistan Party), in addition to a number of leaders of Gulf, Iraqi and Egyptian nationalities.
The army’s airstrikes also targeted terrorists’ sites in al-Habeit, Tal Hwash and al-Jabiriyeh in the countryside of Idleb, killing a number of terrorists and destroying their weapons.
Homs
Army units carried out operations targeting gatherings and fortifications of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization and the groups affiliated to it in the northern countryside of Homs central province, killing a number of terrorists and injuring others.
The military source told SANA that army units killed all members of a terrorist group affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra in Tal Abu al-Sanasel, 20 km to the north of Homs City.
The source added that a number of terrorists were killed and others were injured and their arms and ammunition were destroyed in operations carried out by the army against fortifications of the terrorist groups in the area of al-Dabbour and in Jawalak village.
Deir Ezzor
Army units carried out special operations against positions and fortifications of the ISIS terrorists in the surroundings of al-Maqaber (cemeteries) area and the Regiment 137 on the southwestern outskirts of Deir Ezzor city.
The source added that 35 of the ISIS terrorists were killed in the operations, in addition to destroying 3 of their cars and four fortified positions of heavy machineguns.
Meanwhile, SANA’s reporter in Deir Ezzor said that the Syrian Air Force destroyed gatherings, fortifications, and dens for ISIS in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor Airport and in the areas of the factories and al-Makabat on the southern outskirts of the city.
The reporter indicated that an army unit carried out intensive bombardments against gatherings of the ISIS terrorists in al-Junaineh town in the western countryside, killing all members of a terrorist group and destroying their ammunition and military equipment.
