Aleppo/Homs, SANA – Mufti of Aleppo Sheikh Mahmoud Akkam said that the Christians and the Muslims in Syria are “one nation”, with the churches and mosques being equally respected.
In a statement, Mufti Akkam clarified that the Christians, just like the Muslims are part and parcel of the Syrian community, adding that members of religions were brothers in the struggle against the French colonization.
In a similar context, members of a Christian delegation stressed their adherence to the homeland and their trust in the Syrian Arab Army in confronting terrorism.
They were speaking during a meeting with Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All East John X Yazigi at St. George Monastery in Wadi al-Nadara in Homs.
