Russian demining experts clear 70 hectares of IEDs and landmines planted by terrorists in Aleppo

Lattakia, SANA – Russian demining experts cleared 70 hectares of IEDs and landmines planted by terrorists in the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo before they left the area.

The Hmeimim-based Russian Coordination Center said in a statement on Wednesday that the Russian experts cleared 70 hectares of mines in the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo city during the past 24 hours, noting that they demined 11 kilometers of roads and 57 building.

Experts from the Russian International Mine Action Center operating in Aleppo had dismantled by last Saturday 25,000 explosive devices, more than half of them homemeade, in an area of over 2,000 hectares in the eastern neighborhoods of the city.

The Center also said that Russian humanitarian efforts are continuing in Aleppo city, providing various types of aid and support to more than 3,000 civilians.
