General Commission for Management and Development of Al-Ghab: Cotton crop good and plentiful

Hama, SANA – Director of the General Commission for Management and Development of Al-Ghab (GCMD) Ghazi al-Ezzi in Hama Province said that the general status of cotton crop for the current season is “good and plentiful “.

Al-Ezzi told SANA that the field tours by the agricultural engineers and technicians to the cotton fields proved that the crop is free from diseases and insect infections.

Al-Ezzi pointed out that the areas cultivated with cotton reached 2447 hectares out of the total plan estimated at 3617 hectares, indicating that this area is acceptable due to the lack of rain during the last winter which led to that the framers abstained of cultivating cotton.

The  production of cotton for the last season reached 6400 tons.
