Lattakia, SANA – More than 2000 participants Sunday took part in the “I Love Lattakia” marathon, an exciting start to the activities of the three-day “Live Syria” festival organized by the Tourism Ministry in cooperation with Ryhawi Company.
The participants made their way through the streets from Haroon roundabout to the finish line at Lattakia Governorate Square and enjoyed the entertainment, dancing and musical performance along the marathon course.
Director of Tourism Directorate in Lattakia, Hala al-Khayer, said that the festival reflects the beauty and enthusiasm of the Syrian youth who are determined to live despite all circumstances.
In turn, Head of Promotion Department at Lattakia Tourism Directorate, Firas Wardi, highlighted the Tourism Ministry’s efforts and facilitations to make this event a success and enhance tourism development.
Mohammad Shreitah, Secretary of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party branch in Lattakia, said the festival conveys a message of love and peace from Syria to the entire world.
Around 150 volunteers helped organize this event.
