Security Council to hold emergency session to discuss US airstrikes on Syrian military positions in Deir Ezzor

New York, SANA- The UN Security Council will hold an emergency session on Sunday at the request of Russia to discuss the US airstrikes on Syrian military positions in Deir Ezzor, according to diplomatic sources.

Earlier, Russia called for an emergency UN Security Council meeting demanding a formal explanation after the US airstrikes on Syrian military positions in Deir Ezzor.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova indicated that the attack reflects the fact that the US is defending the ISIS terrorist organization, adding that this might be the reason why the US rejects to publish the Russian-US agreement on Syria.

” After the US attack on the Syrian army, we come to the terrible conclusion that  Washington is defending the ISIS terrorist organization, ”

” If previously we had suspicions that al-Nusra Front is protected this way, now, after today’s airstrikes on the Syrian army we come to a really terrifying conclusion for the entire world: The White House is defending  ISIS,” Zakharova said, demanding a full and detailed explanation from Washington regarding that.
