Homs, SANA – Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Defense Minister Gen. Fahd Jassem al-Freij on Tuesday conducted a field tour of military positions and posts in Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs province.
Accompanied by officers from the General Command, Gen. al-Freij met soldiers at their positions and conveyed to them President al-Assad’s appreciation of their bravery and heroics in fighting terrorists and offered them greetings on occasion of Eid al-Adha holiday.
The Defense Minister was briefed by the commanding officers on the situation on the ground and the nature of the operations conducted in the area, with al-Freij lauding the soldiers’ high morale and spirit and affirming that the battle will continue until terrorism is eliminated and security and stability are restored to every inch of Syria.
