China and South Africa condemn Tartous and Jableh terrorist bombings

Capitals, SANA – China condemned the terrorist blasts that targeted the coastal cities of Tartous and Jableh on Monday, leaving dozens of innocent people dead or injured.

Xinhua quoted spokeswoman of Chinese Foreign Ministry Hua Chunying as saying on Wednesday that “China firmly opposes all forms of terrorism”, stressing that “political solutions are the only way out to the crisis in Syria,”

“China hopes all relevant parties will fully implement the UN Security Council’s resolution and the consensus reached at the fifth International Syria Support Group ministerial meeting” she added.

The Chinese official also called upon the parties concerned to maintain and extend the cessation of hostilities agreement and resume intra-Syrian dialogue.

South Africa also strongly condemned the terrorist blasts that hit the two cities of Jableh and Tartous.

” The South African government joins the world community in condemning the recent coward acts of terror and calls on all peace-loving mankind to do everything to defeat terrorism and extremism, ” South African Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation said in a statement .

The statement affirmed that the Syrians deserve a peaceful future.

On May 23rd, a series of synchronized terrorist bombings targeted a bus station, the Electricity Directorate, and the National Hospital in Jableh city, as well as a bus station and a residential neighborhood in Tartous city, killing and injuring scores of civilians.
