Sen. Black’s aide: US government must stop war on Syria

Lattakia, SANA- Janice Kortkamp, the aide of US Senator Richard “Dick” Black, met on Sunday Lattakia Governor Ibrahim Khedr al-Salem, and voiced during the meeting her regret for the United States’ support for the terrorism that targets Syria.

She voiced hope that the American people will become aware of the true nature of the terrorism that is targeting Syria, lauding the sacrifices of the martyrs who defended their homeland and affirmed that the Syrians will emerge victorious.

For his part, al-Salem said that the Syrians hope that other peoples will understand the truth of what is happening in Syria and work to change their rulers’ policies that support terrorism, the same terrorism backed by Erdogan’s regime and the leaders of the Arab Gulf, among others.

In a statement to journalists after the meeting, Kortkamp said the impression she got from her visit to Syria is that it’s a country of tolerance and hospitality, and that what is actually happening in it is different from what misleading media outlets depict.

She said that it’s time for the American people to wake and realize that their government is supporting the war on Syria, and that the US must stop doing so and begin helping the Syrian people instead.
