Patriarch Laham: We support the state and law in Syria which protect all the Syrians

London, SANA -Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and All the

East Patriarch Gregorios III Laham stressed that we always support Syria, the secular state which believes in the freedom for all spectrums without any foreign pressure.

“In Syria, we are Syrians and not minorities as we support who maintains our security, stability and peace and who ensures a good future for Syria and we stand by the state and the law which protects us alongside all the Syrians,” Patriarch Laham said in an interview with the London-based  BBC on Monday.

Laham added that what has happened in Syria during the last period proves that  there is a conspiracy and not target a special sect in it but against Syria as a whole.

“We, as Christians, are Syrians and work for achieving reconciliation, dialogue and rapprochement among all spectrums of the Syrian people,” he said.

Patriarch Laham said that a just political solution is the only solution to the crisis in Syria.
