MOSCOW, SANA- Russian Defense Ministry announced that the US Defense Ministry “Pentagon” has approved a memo of understanding on safety of flights over Syria.
“We received a memorandum approved by US counterpart on preventing air incidents in Syria,” Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said on Tuesday.
“The US military personnel pledged to inform their western partners with the approved rules concerning the flight safety over the Syrian territories,” the spokesman added.
He hoped this “document would be circulated to the pilots of the US –led international coalition countries that fight ISIS”.
No Russian soldiers killed in Syria
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense dismissed as baseless the report of Reuters saying that Russian soldiers were killed in Syria.
In a statement made on Tuesday, the Ministry said “We stress that no Russian soldier or personnel was killed in Syria.”
