Damascus, SANA – Transport Minister Ghazwan Kheir Bek affirmed that activity in Al-Bassel Airport in Lattakia is normal, and that domestic flights are proceeding normally and according to schedule.
In a statement to SANA, Kheir Bek said that all rumors about cessation of flights to and from Al-Bassel Airport, regardless of the alleged reasons, are completely untrue, and that no changes were made to the schedule of domestic flights.
He clarified that international flights were referred from the Airport to Damascus International Airport in order to provide in-flight meals for passengers since the contract with the catering contractor was revoked on September 8th.
The Minister requested that media outlets exercise caution and procure information related to the Transport Ministry from reliable and credible sources before publishing them.
