Moscow, SANA – The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday that the Russian President’s Special envoy to the Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, met in Moscow a delegation of the Syrian internal opposition.
The Ministry said that a substantive and objective discussion regarding the situation in Syria took place during the meeting, adding that the Russian side affirmed during the discussions the necessity of enhancing efforts to find an urgent political settlement for the crisis in Syria through starting talks between the Syrian government and a wide group of opposition figures on the basis of the Geneva Communiqué issued in June 30 2012.
The Ministry added that talks stressed the need to unite all Syrian political forces to combat international terrorism which threatens the existence of Syria and the security of the entire Middle East region.
