Sunday weather forecast: Temperatures remain above average, showers expected in some areas

Damascus, SANA – Temperatures remain above average by 3 to 5 degrees as the country is still affected by southeastern low air pressure accompanied by southwestern air currents in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

The expected temperatures in some cities are as follows: Damascus 35/19, Homs: 34/19, Lattakia: 32/23, Aleppo: 36/22 and Raqaa: 38/22.

The Meteorology Department expected in its Sunday bulletin that the weather is relatively hot and hazy in the southern and eastern regions and in al-Jazira and al-Badia areas.

The skies are clear and partly cloudy in general, while it will be cloudy during the night over the northern, central and coastal regions, with a chance of showers in those areas, according to the department.

The winds are southeasterly of light to moderate speed, while the sea waves are of low amplitude.

On Monday, temperatures are expected to drop, yet remain around average or slightly below, while the weather will be partly cloudy. Showers are expected over various areas of the country.
