Hasaka, SANA – Services have resumed at the National Hospital in Hasaka city after they were halted for a week due to the damage caused to the hospital under the latest ISIS attack.
Dr. Mohammad Khalaf, the director of Hasaka Health Directorate, told SANA that quick repair works have been carried out at the hospital during the last week, referring in particular to the rehabilitation of water and electricity networks.
He also said the medical and nursing staff have been back to work at the hospital and all medical and other services have been made available, including medicines and all the necessary medical equipment and requirements.
Besides the National Hospital, the Children’s Hospital and the health center in al-Nashwa neighborhood have sustained damage in the ISIS assault that targeted various areas in Hasaka city in a bid to take control of it.
Yet, the Health Directorate have taken measures to ensure the continuity of providing medical services to people by moving cadres and services to other health centers in safe areas in the city.
Hasaka city, located in northeastern Syria, has faced a wide ISIS assault during which the residents and public and private properties suffered losses, with the terrorists carrying out car bombings and launching shelling attacks in order to secure an access into the city.
However, those attempts have failed thanks to the sacrifices and steadfastness of the Syrian army units and national forces who have come together to defend the city.
