Moscow, SANA- Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vitaly Naumkin stressed that it is impossible to eliminate the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria “ISIS” terrorist organization through air strikes only, indicating that the Americans don’t get near these terrorist organizations.
Naumkin was quoted by Russia Today website as saying in a statement that the Americans have been able through air strikes to achieve only certain results, and according to data proposed by experts the amounts of oil which is being smuggled from Syria have decreased and the income of the ISIS has dropped to the one-third.
On the other hand, Naumkin, who plays the role of the moderator of Moscow inter-Syrian talks, considered that it is too early to talk about holding a new round of inter-Syrian talks in Moscow as there should be first an assessment of the consultations which are being organized by the UN Special Envoy on Syria Staffan de Mistura in Geneva.
Regarding the prospects of holding a 3rd Moscow consultative meeting, Naumkin said that no decision has been taken up till now.
