Tehran, SANA- Ali Akbar Velayati, Advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, said that Syria’ s government and people are fighting a fierce war against terrorist organizations and are still confronting the threat of terrorism.
In an interview given to the Iranian TV, Velayati expressed confidence that terrorists will fail to achieve their goals in Syria because of the strong resistance put up against them by the Syrian government and people.
He added that the spread of terrorism from Iraq to Syria and Yemen and afterwards to all countries in the region is part of an American plan, and that the terrorism that Syria is witnessing is part of a Western project to dominate the Middle East.
Velayati also lauded the Syrian leadership’s efforts in confronting terrorism and the American plots against the region, adding that his recent visit to Syria and Lebanon aimed at coordinating among parties of the axis of resistance regarding developments in the region.
