Moscow, SANA- Russian President’s Special Envoy for the Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed Thursday with Syria’s ambassador to Russia Riad Haddad current developments in Syria and the whole region.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the discussions concentrated on the task of finding a quick political settlement to the crisis in Syria.
Last Tuesday, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov cited during a press conference with the US Secretary of State John Kerry the necessity of continuing exerted efforts for launching a complete dialogue between the Syrian government and opposition on the basis of Geneva 1 communiqué, stressing that the two sides are aware that the peaceful process should be led by Syrians themselves.
