Measles vaccination campaign reaches more than 96,000 children in Daraa

Daraa, SANA – The national measles vaccination campaign reached 96,268 children between 7 months and five years of age in Daraa province.

The vaccinations were made available in the health and medical centers in Daraa, Tafas, al-Shajra, Nawa, al-Sanamin, Izraa and Busra cities and towns.

Around 12,863 children between 7 months and 1 year of age had been given the measles vaccine, while children ages 1 to 5 had been given the MMR vaccine, while the most recent polio vaccination campaign had targeted about 125,260 children in all the areas of Daraa province.

The Health Ministry had launched a national measles vaccination campaign in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) between April 19-30.
