Syrian, Lebanese FMs discuss situation in northern Syria

Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister Bassam Sabbagh and his Lebanese counterpart Abdallah Bouhabib discussed the developments in northern Syria in a telephone conversation.

Bouhabib condemned the attack by extremist groups on the city of Aleppo and its surroundings, and affirmed his country’s support for the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria.

He expressed hope that the Syrian people will enjoy goodness, calm and peace.

For his part, Sabbagh expressed appreciation for the Lebanese position in support of the Syrian unity and sovereignty at a time when Lebanon faces the challenge of the ongoing Israeli aggression despite the ceasefire.

Sabbagh noted that the terrorist attacks by Jabhat Al-Nusra and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorists are in line with Zionist plots aimed at expanding the conflict in the region, keeping it in a constant state of war and depriving it of security and stability.
