Damascus, SANA-President Bashar al-Assad congratulated President Nicolas Maduro on his great winning presidential elections, and congratulated the friendly Venezuelan people on the success of the important electoral process through which they expressed their adherence to the sovereignty of their country and constitution, and their free and independent will away from any attempts to interfere in their internal affairs.
“The changes and developments witnessed by the world require us, as countries with independent decisions and will, to exert the utmost levels of cooperation and mutual support, and to forge partnerships with all countries that share our principles and values and seek goodness and peace in this world” President al-Assad said in a congratulatory cable.
President al-Assad stressed Syria’s constant keenness to ensure that the historical friendship relations between Syria and Venezuela take an upward trend at all levels, and to enhance bilateral cooperation and expand its horizons in a way that achieves the common interest of the two friendly countries and peoples.
