Damascus, SANA- Syrians will head to the ballot boxes at 7:00 am today to select their representatives in the People’s Assembly for the fourth legislative term.
Amid remarkable competition between 1516 candidates, and in an atmosphere of transparency, elections of the people’s Assembly for the fourth legislative term starts on Monday to elect 250 members from all Syrian cities.
The election process is being conducted under the full supervision of the Supreme Judicial Elections Committee, starting from nomination until the announcement of the results.
The ballot boxes which numbered 8,151 will open at 7 a.m. and last until 7 p.m.
According to the General Elections’ Law, the elections may be extended by the Supreme Elections’ Committee for five hours at some or all of the polling stations.
Higher Supreme Judicial Committee for elections announced their readiness to fulfill the elections and provide all requirements of the electoral centers.
