China opposes deployment of US missiles in the Asia-Pacific region

Moscow, SANA- China described the US intention to deploy medium-range missiles in the Asia- Pacific Region as dangerous, Chinese Defense Ministry Spokesman Wu Qian said in a press conference Friday.

The United States’ intention to deploy guided missiles in the APAC is a dangerous development, it will be a serious threat to the security of the regions’ countries and will seriously harm regional peace and stability, Wu said.

Beijing is firmly opposed this deployment and will confront it, the Chinese spokesman said.

The spokesman urged the United States to truly respect the security interests of other countries and stop undermining regional peace and stability.

Earlier, the representative of the US Army’s Pacific Command said that the US plans to deploy medium-range missiles in in the Asia-Pacific region by the end of this year.
