New York, SANA-Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, has renewed his country’s condemnation of the Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, which constitute a “flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
Nebenzya’s remarks during UN Security Council session Tuesday devoted to discussing the Israeli aggression against the Iranian consulate building in Damascus.
“The Russian Federation strongly condemns the ongoing Israeli airstrikes on the sovereign territory of Syria, viewing them as a gross violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of that country,” the Russian diplomat was quoted by Sputnik as saying at a meeting of the Security Council.
“We believe such aggressive actions by (Israel), which are designed to further inflame the conflict, are unacceptable and must be stopped.” Nebenzya said.
The diplomat called on the international community to condemn these Israeli attacks that violate Syrian sovereignty.
