5th Syrian Honey Festival starts activities at Tishreen Sports City in Damascus

Damascus, SANA- With participation of 50 beekeepers, activities of the 5th Syrian Honey Festival, launched on Saturday at Tishreen Sports City in Damascus.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Rami Al-Ali, told SANA that the number of families working in the field of beekeeping is about 17 thousand ones and the ministry, through its centers in the provinces, manufactures and sells cells to farmers at encouraging prices.

Beekeepers exhibit their products of different types of honey, food, medicines and cosmetics, in addition to food products offered by various companies.

The festival was organized by Arab Beekeeper Union in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Union of Agricultural Chambers and the unions of Agronomists and Veterinarians, and the festival’s activities will last until the ninth of current month.
