Syria, Iraq ink bilateral Tourism Cooperation Programme

Baghdad, SANA- Tourism Minister Mohammad Rami Martini, and Iraqi Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Fakkak Al-Badrani inked a programme on bilateral tourism cooperation.

Speaking to SANA correspondent, Martini said that the programme come within the framework of the concern of the two countries to consolidate the fraternal ties binding the two peoples and their strong belief in the positive and effective role played by activating the coopetition and coordination in increasing the tourism exchange.

Martini noted that the programme is based on the tourism cooperation agreement signed in Damascus in 1979 and within the framework of the laws and regulations in force in both countries.

Minister Al-Badrani, in turn, stressed that the historical, social, cultural and geographical commonalities constitute suitable ground for the growth and development of cooperation at all levels for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.

Al-Badrani hailed Syria’s positions towards the Iraqi people, stressing his country’s keenness to benefit from the Syrian experience in the field of tourism and antiquities.
