Baghdad, SANA- Syria and Iraq have discussed means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism and antiquities.
That came during a meeting Thursday that brought together Iraqi Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Fakak al-Badrani, and Syrian Ambassador to Baghdad, Sattam Jadaan al-Dandah.
A statement by the Iraqi Ministry said that al-Badrani underlined the importance of consolidating relations between the two countries at various cultural, tourism and archaeological levels, in addition to the commercial and economic aspects, indicating that one of the priorities of the Iraqi government program is the openness to the Arab world and strengthening the bonds of Arab brotherhood.
For his part, Ambassador al-Dandah affirmed that the two sides stressed their keenness to strengthen the bonds of fraternal relations between the two brotherly peoples and develop their joint programs in the cultural, tourism and archaeological fields.
The Syrian ambassador said that the meeting discussed the work of the joint Syrian-Iraqi committee in the field of tourism and the necessity of forming joint committees to uplift its programs, in addition to developing special programs for cultural, medical and religious tourism groups, businessmen and conferences.
