New York, SANA- Acting Charge de’ Affairs of Syria’s delegation to the UN, Al Hakam Dandi, affirmed that the state of paralysis facing the Security Council regarding the situation in the occupied Palestinian territory is the result of the US prevention of the Council from assuming its responsibility to maintain international peace and security, and its insistence on giving “Israel” the green light to continue its brutal aggression on the Gaza Strip.
During an emergency meeting of the General Assembly regarding the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, Dandi noted that the brutal Israeli practices we have witnessed against the Palestinian people over the decades, and recently against the residents of the Gaza Strip comes in the context of the Israeli occupation’s systematic policy of ethnic cleansing and the killing of the Palestinian people’s hope in establishing their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Dandi stressed that the Israeli occupation bears full responsibility for the suffering of the Palestinian people, as a result of its continued acts of brutal aggression, forced displacement, and arrest of Palestinians.
He said: “It has become evident that Israel is thirsting for more Palestinian blood, as it has so far, despite killing thousands of Palestinians, most of them children and women, and it has not yet been satisfied with destroying houses, residential buildings, and infrastructure in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank”, Dandi said.
