Foreign Ministers of Non-Aligned countries adopt Baku Declaration

Baku, SANA-Foreign Ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement countries Thursday called for respecting the sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity and political independence of all states and their rejection of external interference in their domestic affairs, stressing the need to end the Israeli occupation of the Syrian Arab Golan.

The Ministers, at the conclusion of their meeting held in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku, with the participation of Foreign and Expatriates Minster, Fayssal Mikdad, adopted the Baku Declaration which called for adhering to the vision, principles and goals of the movement as established during the Bandung Conference of 1955 and Belgrade of 1961, which aims to achieve a world in which peace, justice, cooperation and prosperity prevails for all.

They reiterated the movement’s stance which demands the end of the Israeli occupation of the Syrian Arab Golan and its withdrawal from it up to the line of June 4th, 1967, in accordance with Security Council Resolutions No. 242/338, stressing the content of Resolution 497 which stipulates that all measures taken by the Israeli occupation authorities to change the legal, administrative and demographic status of the Golan are null and void which has no legal effect.

The ministers also expressed their countries’ support for the Palestinian cause, relevant international legitimacy resolutions, the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, and the right of return, and they condemned the escalation of the Israeli occupation and settler militias in their deadly attacks on the Palestinians, the latest of which is the attack on the city of Jenin and its camp.

On the other hand, the ministers condemned in the strongest terms the imposition of illegal unilateral coercive measures against member states of the Movement.
