Moscow, SANA- President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, affirmed that his country will keep supporting Syria in combating terrorism and assisting it to solve its crisis.
“Syria is a friend country of Russia and a trusty partner and ally in the Arab world and international arena. The relations binding us are based on respect and cooperation which were confirmed by the visit made by President Bashar al- Assad to Russia and by the agreements been reached then to boost cooperation in all domains.” Putin said while receiving the credentials of 17 ambassadors to Russia, including Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari.
Putin added Russia assisted Syria to defend its sovereignty and independence against the international terrorism, and it will keep helping it until eliminating this terror completely. It also extended a hand of assistance after the earthquake that struck the country immediately, reiterating that it will keep doing so until Syria finds a solution to its crisis.
Ambassador al-Jaafari presented his credentials at the Kremlin as Syria’s extraordinary and plenipotentiary Ambassador to Russia. According to the diplomatic norms, al-Jaafari can also present his credentials as non-resident ambassador of Syria in Kazakhstan, Abkhazia, South Ossetia.
