Syria, Dagestan discuss humanitarian aid provided to quake victims

Moscow, SANA- Syrian Ambassador in Moscow Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari, discussed with Dagestani State Duma Deputy Rizvan Kurbanov, the issue of humanitarian aid provided by the “Pure Heart” Charitable Foundation in Dagestan to the Syrian people, in order to mitigate the repercussions of the earthquake that struck Syria last February.

During a meeting held Sunday at the headquarters of the Syrian embassy in Moscow, Kurbanov, who heads the foundation, noted that the aid provided by citizens in Dagestan will be sent to Syria successively.

He added that the foundation has recently sent 52 tons of humanitarian aid aboard a ship that docked in the port of Tartous.

In turn, Dr. al-Jaafari voiced his sincere thanks to Deputy Kurbanov, stressing that this aid is evidence of the great love of the friendly Dagestani people to Syria.
