Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia kicks off in Astana 

Astana, SANSA-The Sixth Summit of the Member States of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) kicked off on Thursday in  Kazakh capital of Astana.

According to RIA Novosti Agency, this CICA is based on the recognition of the close relationship between peace, security and stability in Asia and the rest of the world .

It was established at the initiative of Kazakhstan in 1992 and its activities are aimed at creating conditions for dialogue, decision-making to create the efficacious and universal structure to safeguard security in Asia and to move towards a unified Asian structure for collective security.

The forum includes 28 countries, and it covers about 90 percent of the territory and population of Asia, while a number of countries and five international organizations, among them the United Nations were was conferred the status of observers.
