68 Cooperation documents between Russian and Syrian institutions to be inked very soon

Moscow, SANA- Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Bassam Ibrahim discussed Monday with Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Pyotr Kucherenko, means of strengthening bilateral cooperation in education and scientific research field.

“Syria is not only a strategic partner for Russia in all economic, political, military and educational areas, but also a great friend” Kucherenko asserted, noting to Russia’s keenness to upgrade the bilateral scientific cooperation along participating in reconstruction process in Syria.

“68 documents of cooperation between the Russian and Syrian institutions are expected to be signed very soon”, Kucherenko added.

The Deputy Minister welcomed conducting the first Russian –Syrian conference to be held tomorrow under the title Ibn Sina Methods and attended by specialized medical cadres and screened via video on Medicine Faculty amphitheater.

For his part, Ibrahim asserted that the Syrian-Russian ties are constantly developing and see leaps forward in the culmination of mutual respect and desire for maintaining international peace and security which bring the two countries together.

Minister Ibrahim underlined the importance of updating and upgrading the several-decade-old scientific research cooperative program, with a timetable for its rigorous implementation.
