Mikdad and Pedersen discuss Syria’s efforts to consolidate stability

Damascus,SANA- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Fayssal Mikdad, discussed on Sunday with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Syria Geir Pedersen issues of common interest and the efforts of the Syrian state to consolidate stability, through expanding the ongoing reconciliations and settlement processes.

Mikdad indicated importance of the recent decree of the general amnesty on terrorist crimes, said that all competent authorities continue to implement all the articles of the decree.

Referring to the continuation of occupation of Syrian territories by the Turkish occupation, Mikdad warned of the seriousness of recent remarks made by the Turkish regime on the establishment of the so-called” safe zone” northern Syria and called on the international community not to bargain with this regime over the lands of other countries .

In turn, Pedersen described the recent general amnesty as an important step.

The discussions also touched upon holding the round of the Committee of Discussing the Constitution due to be held on the 28th of current May.
