First batch of civilians evacuated from Izyum city to Russian borders

Moscow, SANA- Russian Defense Ministry announced Saturday that for the first time, a group of civilians, most of them women and children were evacuated from Izyum city in the Ukrainian Kharkov region.

‘Russian army buses transported the first group of civilians, including 100 people, mostly women, children and elderly, from Izyum city in Kharkov region’, RIA Novosti news agency quoted sources at the ministry as saying.

The refugees’ convoy was accompanied by Russian helicopters and military police vehicles to the Russian borders through Ukraine where they were received and supplied with the necessary food and medical aid.

The evacuated civilians, for their part, said that Izium city has always been coming under fire by the Ukrainian forces.
