Tehran, SANA-The Iranian Foreign Ministry reiterated support for the consultative meeting on the crisis in Syria currently held in Moscow.
“Political solution and dialogue are the sole way to resolve the crisis in Syria,” Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said in statements in Tehran on Wednesday.
Afkham stressed that only the Syrian people have the right to determine their own future, a fact she said regional countries have to take into account, urging them to rise above “narrow interests” in this regard.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman hoped that countries involved in the current state of affairs in Syria will reconsider their positions and realize that their conduct won’t help resolve regional issues.
Commenting on the recent military win in Ayn al-Arab town whose locals managed to drive ISIS terrorists from the city, Afkham hailed the resistance and victory of the locals over the terrorist organization.
