Beirut, SANA-Lebanese President, Michel Aoun, affirmed importance of the efforts exerted to achieve progress in the track of the political solution to the crisis in Syria in the interest of its people and countries of the region, particularly Lebanon.
President Aoun, who received United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen called on the international community to assume its responsibility in facilitating the return of the displaced Syrians in Lebanon to their country, particularly, in light of the return of security to most Syrian regions after liberating them from terrorism.
Pedersen, for his part, said that the UN and the international community appreciate Lebanon’s hosting of the displaced Syrians on its lands.
