Damascus, SANA- Do you know that the Syrian Government subsidizes 70% of the value of gas destined for domestic use and that Syria has signed contracts to import about 27 thousand tons of domestic gas per month, but only receives half of the contracted volume due to the blockade and the extraterritorial economic sanctions imposed by the US and the EU.

On the other hand, 10,000 tons of gas produced daily and they only cover 30% of the country’s needs, since US troops and their QSD militia occupy four gas plants that contain domestic gas production units.

Despite all these difficulties, the current production amounts to 70 thousand gas cylinders per day, 10% of which are destined for industrial purposes.

The increase in gas prices worldwide has increased the value of the subsidy, reaching 70 percent of the value of the domestic gas cylinder, while subsidizing gas for industrial purposes by 30%.
