Daraa Governor discusses with UNICEF and WFP the humanitarian situation in Daraa

Daraa, SANA – Daraa Governor Mohammad Khaled al-Hannous on Tuesday discussed with delegations of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) the humanitarian conditions in the province and means of providing aid to the terrorism-affected families there.

Al- Hannous briefed the delegations on the damage caused by terrorists to the infrastructure and public institutions in Daraa, saying that 400 schools and 5 public hospitals were among the targeted institutions.

He added that terrorism also stroke electricity and water services.

For their part, heads of the delegations said they are working on reassessing the humanitarian conditions and providing more aid including food, health and educational needs to the locals and displaced persons in the province.
